Abstract

Essential oil from the herb of Hyssopus officinalis L. was obtained by steam distillation, simple hydrodistillation and hydrodistillation in Dean-Stark apparatus. The chemical composition of the oil was determined by GC-MS. The analysis revealed the presence of 31 compounds in steam distilled oil, 36 compounds in hydrodistilled oil and 27 compounds in essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation in Dean-Stark apparatus. Isopinocamphone was the dominating component (40.07–45.45%) in the all analysed oil samples.
