A new herbal remedy of anabolic activity on the basis of hydrophilic compounds of Eucalyptus leaves

Abstract

The purpose of these investigations was to study the hydrophilic biological active substances of Eucalyptus viminalis leaves and prospects of new herbal remedy creation on their basis. Two phenolcarbonic acids – gallic and ellagic; 5 derivatives hydrocinnamic acids: p-coumaric, caffeic, ferulic, chlorogenic, neochlorogenic; 6 coumarins: coumarine, umbelliferon, scopoletin, daphnoretin, skimin and scopolin; 8 flavonoids and their glycosides: luteolin, miricetine, kaempferol, quercetin, isorhamnetin, isoquercetrin, astragalin and isorhamnetin 3-О-β-Dglucopiranoside; 2 triterpeniods: ursolic and oleanolic acids; 2 organic acids: tartaric and malic; as well as allantoin were isolated and 22 amino acids were identified in E. viminalis leaves and its extract. In E. viminalis leaves and it’s extract content of hydrocinnamic acid derivatives, flavonoids, polyphenol compounds, polysaccharides, amino acids was determined. Specific pharmacological activity of the hydrophilic extract from Eucalyptus leaves was investigated and its’ anabolic and stress protective activities were determined.
